Election Day!

smittenbyuIt's election day in Virginia! I'd like to be optimistic. Oh so optimistic. But you know a year ago we were optimistic. Well, I wasn't. I knew we would have Trump. But I was hoping. Oh so hoping.
Can one be a cynical optimist? I hate being a cynic. Skeptical I can be and should be. But more and more that's where I am finding myself.
And then I look at my child and her friends in her classroom a week ago all pretending to be something horrifying for Halloween except they were looking adorable. Kind souls. And I force myself to be an optimist. Because they are the ones we have to answer to.
Ugh. Everyone go vote. Obviously for those I like. ha haha... But whatever. GO VOTE!
